The Bisexual, Lesbian, Gay, Transgender and Straight Alliance (BiLaGA) was the GLBT student group. They met on Thursdays at 7 p.m., usually at the Oasis House on Schusseler Street. They have since been rebranded as the Alliance.

Meetings were generally of a social and supportive nature. They included movie nights, cooking, and discussion nights. BiLaGA endeavored to include more activism and community outreach.

Safe zone trainings were held in previous years for Resident Advisors, Orientation Leaders, and other members of the WPI community. The safe zone trainings were designed to help people learn how to be better allies for GLBT people. The safe zone sticker can be seen around campus and is supposed to designate areas that are safe zones for GLBT people who may need to escape prejudice or problems.

Unity House was a special interest house offered by Residential Services. It was located at 26 Hackfeld Road. and is home to 8 students and an RA. It was designed to be a safe zone for GLBT students and their allies.

The Pride Dinner is an annual event hosted by BiLaGA during early D-term to raise awareness of GLBT issues in a friendly and fun atmosphere. Recent performers have included Zoe Lewis and Magdalen Hsu-Li. The Third Annual Pride Dinner was on Tuesday, March 29, 2005. This year Zoe Lewis will be performing again.
